Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the SWIC Educational Employees part-time position of Network Connectivity Technician.

Description

Position is responsible for documentation for fiber optic backbones, CAT5 cabling trunk lines and local cabling to offices, routers, bridges, data switches and hubs. Position also troubleshoots problems related to accessing the network and performs duties of the network manager as backup. Work involves close association with faculty and staff. General instructions and directions are received from the Director of Network Services and the Network Manager. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and other irregular times. Must be able to lift fifty pounds and climb a ladder. The responsibilities extend district wide.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. CCNA certification and or Network + required.
3. Additional college education with networking emphasis is preferred.
4. Networking, computer, MS-DOS, Windows experience required.

Salary

$18.04 /hr., up to 30 hours per week

Work Location

Belleville Campus with district-wide responsibilities
