Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Associate Database Administrator.
Description
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this position will maintain all institutional databases for administrative systems. Database design, structure, implementation, production, and maintenance are included with this position. Technical knowledge of computing hardware, database software, and database structures such as relational and object are required. A thorough understanding of the management information data needs of a community college is needed to manage institutional data. Knowledge of utilities to ensure optimal performance, backups and recovery strategies, and software upgrades is required. This position requires availability for any implementation and production issues related to databases and takes technical leadership from the Principal Database Administrator.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with special study in the information processing area is required.
- Two years of experience as a DBA is required.
- Minimum of two years of PeopleSoft Administration experience is required.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is required.
- Ability to develop applications using relational database design techniques such as SQL server, MS access, and SQL is required.
- Ability to implement and utilize database management tools is required.
- One year as PeopleSoft DBA is preferred.
- Certificates in relational database administration are preferred.
- Experience with virtualization is preferred.
- MIS experience in an educational institutional is preferred.
Salary
The starting salary range is $70,000 to $80,000.
