Biology Prerequisite
Proof of Completion of Prerequisite Courses
Biology
- One year high school biology with a lab or one semester college (College biology must equate with SWIC’s BIOL 100, 101, 102, 105, 155, 156, 157 or 158)
- Students completing prerequisite courses from a high school not recognized by the State Board of Education or home schooled students may demonstrate competency of the biology requirement by taking a proficiency test. Questions regarding proficiency testing can be addressed by our admissions reviewer, 618-235-2700, ext. 5455.
High school students:
Plan to complete biology before the senior year of high school.
If biology was not completed in high school or was completed beyond time limits plan to complete no later than the fall semester preceding potential program admission.
Prerequisites MUST be completed by the identified time frames to be considered for admission in programs who have more applicants than seats available. Enrollment in the spring semester or completion of coursework in the senior year of high school is too late for the admission process.
