College for Kids
The College for Kids program is an educational enrichment program for children in our community. Courses are designed to provide students with unique and enjoyable educational, cultural and recreational activities, which are different in form and content from regular classroom activities.
Kids Summer Camp Program 2024
We are thrilled to introduce the College for Kids Summer Camp Program at Southwestern Illinois College, designed to offer young learners a unique and enriching summer experience. Our diverse range of camps is tailored to engage and inspire children with a variety of interests, from culinary arts and music to competitive gaming and creative construction.

Chinese Language and Traditions
Delve into the rich traditions of Chinese culture, master the art of Chinese cuisine, or both! These camps provide a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about and appreciate diverse culinary practices and cultural heritage through hands-on cooking sessions and cultural activities.
Melody Makers: Kids Singing Camp & Craft and Chords:
Musical Instrument Discovery Camp
Whether your child is a budding musician or a shy singer ready to take the stage, our music and singing camps are the perfect pitch. Campers will explore various musical styles, develop vocal techniques, create musical instruments through crafts, and more. Take part in one or both of these camps to expand your child’s love of music!
Victory Royale: Fortnite Esports Camp & Ultimate Gamers: Rocket League Esports Camp
Dive into the world of competitive gaming with our specialized Esports camps. Featuring popular games like Fortnite and Rocket League, participants will learn valuable skills such as strategic thinking, teamwork, and digital sportsmanship. Our instructor will guide campers through fun and competitive play, enhancing both their gaming skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams.
Metro East Bricks Lego® Camps
Unleash creativity and problem-solving skills with Metro East Bricks during a variety of Lego® themed camps. Kids will engage in building challenges, collaborative projects, and free play periods, all while learning the basics of engineering and architecture. It’s a perfect way to combine fun and learning in a hands-on, engaging environment.
Each camp is designed to foster not only skills in their specific areas but also teamwork, creativity, and self-confidence. Each camp session is scheduled to run 4 days per week, morning and afternoon, beginning June 10. All camps are open to children ages 8-13. If you register your child for both the morning and afternoon camp during the same week, lunch and childcare will be provided at no cost.

Metro East Bricks
Metro East Bricks camps are a fresh and fun way for kids ages 5-13 to spend their school break! Guided by our experienced teachers and built around exciting themes like Amusement Parks, Space and Robotics, children will enjoy using LEGO® Bricks to build specially-designed Metro East Bricks models, play LEGO® games and explore the world of engineering, architecture and animated movie-making.
