Instructions

- Please name each file: StudentName_NameofPoem as the file name.
- Student assets will be provided on the student dashboard to help guide students with recording.
Please note: This year’s contest is a virtual VIDEO SUBMISSION CONTEST!
Poem Selection
All poems must be selected from the Poetry Out Loud print or online anthology, which is updated every summer. View the official POL anthology for the current school year. Only versions of poems from the official anthology may be used in the contest.
Students must provide the titles and authors of their poems and the order in which they will be recited to the coordinator. Students may not change their poems or their order once submitted. This will enable the coordinator to have poems for the accuracy judge and prompter and evaluation sheets prepared.
2. Upload and Share
- Students will upload their videos (separately) to a file-sharing platform of their choice (Amazon, Dropbox, google drive, etc.)
- Then share the link through the SWIC.edu Poetry Out Loud website entry form. The submission form opens on February 4th.
!IMPORTANT: All video links need to be shared publicly so we have access to download the submitted videos.
3. Make sure your videos follow the rules
For video submission contests, videos must not be edited, but students may record their recitations more than once and send their best recording for each recitation.
4. Send information
Also, please send amy.brockman@swic.edu an excel file with the names of all the students who participated in the rounds of competition at your school. This year, we will be awarding a participation certificate to all who participated. The certificates will be mailed to your schools.
