Silent Study Lounge
A SILENT STUDY LOUNGE IS AVAILABLE AT THE BELLEVILLE CAMPUS LIBRARY
The Silent Study Lounge is for students to work individually on academic related activities, such as studying, writing, doing homework, conducting research, or reading without distractions.
The Silent Study Lounge is available on a walk-in basis only for currently enrolled Southwestern Illinois College students during normal Library hours. There is no time limit or reservation required to use the room. The room may be occupied by as many as ten patrons simultaneously, on a first-come, first-served basis.
A check-in at the Library Front Desk with a current SWIC ID card is required before each visit/study session in the Silent Study Lounge.
In order to maintain a silent environment, the following restrictions apply:
- No talking or conversation is permitted.
- Mobile devices must be silenced.
- Earphones/earbuds may not be used.
- Use of electronic equipment, such as laptop computers is allowed, but audio is prohibited.
Silence is required in the space at all times except when Library staff needs to communicate with patrons using the room.
