Juergen Huettner – Head Coach

Juergen Huettner is entering his 11th season as Women’s Head Soccer Coach, taking the 2023 squad to an overall record of 14 wins, 7 losses and 1 tie. In his ten seasons with SWIC, Huettner has compiled a record of 136 – 59 – 9, including three Regional Championships (2014, 2022 & 2023), two District Championship (2022 & 2023) and three appearances in the NJCAA National Tournament (2021, 2022 & 2023)
Prior to Huettner’s arrival at Southwestern Illinois College, he was the Women’s Soccer Coach at St. Louis Community College (2009-2013). In five seasons with STLCC, Huettner had compiled a record of 62-44-5, including three winning seasons in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He led the STLCC Soccer Team to three Regional Championships (2009, 2012, 2013), two District Championships (2012 & 2013) and two appearances in the NJCAA National Tournament.
Huettner was also named NCAA Region XVI Coach of the Year in 2009, 2012 and 2013 and Region XXIV Coach of the Year in 2014 & 2019.

Matthew Burke – Assistant Coach
Coach Burke is entering his first year with SWIC Women’s Soccer. He has been the Assistant Coach for the women’s soccer program at Freeburg High School for six years where he was named the District 12 Assistant Coach of the Year in 2023 following the team’s run to the Super-sectionals. He was also the Head Coach for the Men’s Soccer team at Gibault High School for two years where he won the Regional Championship in 2023.
Luyanda “Ya Ya” Nogenga – Assistant Coach
Ya Ya played for Murray State College in 2019-20 and served as the team’s Captain. In 2022-23 he came to SWIC as a player and Captain. While at SWIC he was selected All-Region 24, and All-Region Team in 2022-2023. Ya Ya also played in the National Premier Soccer League for the following teams: (NPSL) Arkansas Wolves Fc-2022 season and Ehtar Belleville Fc 2023 and 2024 seasons. For the 2023-24 season he was a St Louis Ambush Player scoring 7 goals and having 3 assists his first season!
Assistant Coach – Emilie Blomenkamp
Emilie is entering her second season with SWIC’s Women’s Soccer team. Prior to coaching at SWIC, Emilie played soccer for the Blue Storm from 2016 to 2018 under Coach Juergen. Following her time at SWIC, Emilie went on to play soccer for the University of Southern Indiana where she would go on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Services. After graduation, Emilie returned to the Belleville area and now works for SWIC as the Athletic Academic Advisor and Compliance Specilaist. Prior to helping coach at SWIC, Emilie helped coach for the Gateway Rush Soccer Club.
