Music Performances

In collaboration with Southwestern Illinois College’s Music department, music performances are featured in the Marsh Gallery of the Schmidt in the fall and spring semesters.

Previous performances include concerts by members of the Saint Louis Symphony, the Chamber Singers, piano and flute duets, and SWIC student recitals.

Exhibition Programs

Exhibiting artists often work in collaboration with the Schmidt to create special programs that relate to their artwork.

Previous programs include poetry readings, artist talks, and demonstrations.

Special Events

In collaboration with Southwestern Illinois College and the community, the Schmidt Art Center has offered special visual art engagement projects and events, including a student-led mural project, the Project Linus quilt project, and a seminar for artists to develop skills necessary for making a living through art.

These and future events impact students and the community alike.
