Apply for Federal and State Financial Aid
Apply for federal and state financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at studentaid.gov. Remember to use the school code for SWIC – 001636 when applying. You must complete the FAFSA every academic year. Furthermore, you should consider completing the FAFSA as soon as it becomes available for maximum eligibility.
FAFSA Simplification
Due to the passing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Simplification Act on December 27, 2020, as a part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, the FAFSA is changing for the 2024-2025 aid year.
You can expect the following changes:
- The 2024-2025 FAFSA is now available.
- The 2024-2025 FAFSA determines your financial aid eligibility for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 terms.
- The FAFSA application process will be streamlined and easier for students to complete.
- New terminology will be added to the FAFSA.
- Eligibility for federal financial aid will be expanded.
We will continue to update this page as additional information becomes available.
Assistance with the FAFSA is available at SWIC through PALS.
Financial Aid and Academic Advisor
Because the SWIC Financial Aid Office will pay only for classes that are required for a student’s declared program(s) of study, we are strongly encouraging students to meet with an academic advisor to review their program(s) of study and the classes required to complete the program(s).
Financial Aid Forms
Before completing any of the following, students should review the To Do List in their eSTORM Student Center to ensure that the correct forms are printed for their SWIC financial aid.
Net Price Calculator
Accordingly, SWIC is committed to providing an individual review of your unique financial situation. Although the calculator is not able to take all of your special circumstances into account, you will have the opportunity to share them should you choose to apply for financial aid.
How does it work? The calculator measures the financial strength of your family and uses other facts you provide to estimate the dollar amount of grants, scholarships, and other financial aid that is likely to be available to you. Finally, your “net price” is the difference between that amount and the cost of attendance.
